Kofixx Refund Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This page brings together the payment and refund rules from Section 6 ("Pricing and Payments") and Section 9 ("Cancellations and Refunds") of our Terms and Conditions. If anything here appears to differ from the Terms, the Terms apply.
1. How Payments Are Processed
All payments are processed through Paystack, a licensed third-party payment processor. Kofixx does not store your full card or Mobile Money account details.
-
Card payments are placed on hold (authorized) when you submit a request and only charged (captured) once a Technician accepts your Repair Job. If no Technician accepts, the hold is released and you are not charged.
-
Mobile Money payments are charged in full at the time you submit your request, because Mobile Money does not support a hold-and-release mechanism. If no Technician accepts your request within the matching window, or you cancel before a Technician accepts, you are entitled to a refund. Refunds are reviewed and released by our team, and are sent to the Mobile Money number you confirm in the app. We aim to release refunds within one working day; once released, arrival time depends on your Mobile Money provider. Any payment processing fee charged by our payment provider may be non-refundable and deducted from the amount returned to you.
2. Additional Costs
If a Technician discovers additional issues once work has begun, they must show you photographic evidence and the revised price before proceeding. You must approve any additional cost before it is charged or before the Technician continues with the additional work. You are never automatically charged for work you have not approved.
3. Cancellations
You may cancel a Repair Job before a Technician accepts it at no charge (any hold or charge will be released or refunded as described above). Cancelling after a Technician has accepted, or after work has begun, may not be eligible for a full refund, depending on the stage of the repair — this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, including through the dispute process described in our Terms where relevant.
4. Refund Requests After Confirmation
If you confirm a repair and later believe something is wrong, you may request a refund from within the app during your warranty period. Your request opens a conversation with our support team — please share full details of what happened, including photos if possible. We will review your request and may contact the technician involved to help resolve the issue. Refund reviews typically take 1–5 working days. Refunds are not automatic and are issued at Kofixx's discretion based on the outcome of this review, which may result in a free re-repair, a partial refund, a full refund, or no refund if the claim cannot be substantiated.
